UTI(Urinary trypsin inhibitor) was administered t dose level 300,000, 30,000, 3,000 unit/kg/day and 0 unit/kg/day intravenously to pregnant New Zealand White rabbits for 13 days from 6 to 18 days of gestation. The rabbits were sacrificed on day
28
of
gestation. Effects of test drug on teratogenicity were examined. There was no stastically significant difference of body weight changes between control and treated groups during testing periods. No stastically significant difference in the
numbers
of
corpus Iuteum and implantations, sex ratio of fetuses and death ratio of fetuses, body weights of live fetuses were observed. In the fetus external visceral and skeletal examination, marked external malformations, visceral and skeletal
malformations
were not observed. As a result of this study, non-effective dose level of UTI would be 300,000unit/kg/day for dams and F1 fetuses.
